When I was young, I used to think that I wasn’t an artist but someone who enjoyed the outdoors and the natural world.  Painting was a means of observing and recording it.  I have realised that the love of the outdoors and the natural world makes me an artist.  It takes my work out of the realms of representation, reflecting the response of my soul to the beauty of God’s creation. I still love going out into the countryside around the city taking photos when I have time, but I find increasing inspiration from the trees and waterways in and around Sheffield and the Peak district.

love the outdoors in all seasons but particularly the autumn and spring because of the subtlety of light and softness of the colours. I mostly do paintings from photographs that I take when out walking or on my bike, but I enjoy sketching when I get the opportunity.

I am happy to undertake commissions of landscapes, birds and animals. I do not do figures or portraits. I reserve the copyright on all commissions.
 

Over the years I have been doing my own manipulation and printing, and have also been doing my own mounting.  I decided  to start  my own  business as a small scale high quality printer and now run a printing business.
